Judyth Tullberg RR 1 Box 110-F Custer, SD 57730 (605) 673-3552 ren-eggs@tullberg.com What type of eggs do you use? How do I order an egg? Can you create a customized egg? Don't they get stinky? What type of eggs do you use? I work with all types of eggs varying in size from Quail to Ostrich. I only use real eggs. Where possible, eggs come from free range birds at local farms. Each egg is hand picked and each design is a true individual - even if traditional in character. For most eggs, I don't begin work on an egg until it is ordered. As such, any design can be created on any type of egg. If you would like a design on a different type of egg other than that listed in the gallery, please contact me at ren-eggs@tullberg.com prior to purchase so that I can confirm availability and price. How do I order an egg? To order an egg, look through the gallery. When you see an egg that you like, click "Add to Carton" and that egg will automatically be added to your Egg Carton. You may then continue shopping or browsing the site. When you are ready to make a purchase click on the "Egg Carton" at the top of your screen. Once you have purchased an egg, I will contact you to confirm your order and to provide you with an estimated delivery date. It usually takes about three weeks to complete the process and receive your egg. For payment I accept PayPal which works with Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. I also accept personal checks or money orders. ![]() Can you create a customized egg? Absolutely! Any of the designs which are listed in the Gallery can be created on any type of egg and in a range of colors. I am also able to design an egg based upon your specific requirements. I can either use your design or create one based upon your input. If you desire a customized egg, just e-mail me at ren-eggs@tullberg.com. Don't they get stinky? Yes and no. For most of my eggs, I remove the interior and re-seal the egg. Some I make in the traditional manner - leaving the interior intact and allowing it to dry to the point where it is beyond the 'rotting' stage. By the time that I send them out, the eggs are 'stink' free. I have had a few crack in the studio prior to being completely dry - don't try that at home - yuck. |
![]() Just over the road and through the woods, deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota, is the home of Judyth Tullberg. Her studio window overlooks a Ponderosa Pine forest and an old farming valley, abundant with wildlife. Judyth and her husband have two grown sons, both married. One family lives in Germany and the other in Texas. Judyth is also a Nana, with her granddaughter and grandson living in Germany. Judys father and her brothers family live just a neighborly sticks toss through the woods. A calligrapher for over 20 years, Judyth has applied her fine detailed artistry to the time honored tradition of Ukrainian Pysanky, using a multi step resilient wax-resist dying process. Judyth is as enchanted by nature as we are with her artistry. She approaches every step in her eggery as a walk through nature: gathering an egg from a neighborhood ranch, carefully cleaning and preparing the shell and developing her design - either old world or new world. Judyth then prepares her work area with her kistka, beeswax, dyes, dremel, egg blower and surface hardening agent. After hours of wax and dye detail, Judyth uses heat from a candle to unwrap her treasure ~ a Ukrainian Pysanka. "For me, the egg is not just an egg. Rather, it is a free-born sculpture whose 65/1000th inch surface is like a painters canvas which is transformed by the impression of wax and pen. Adding to the character of the design, the egg surface is often rough and irregular. There is natural beauty in this rustic canvas. "I hope that you enjoy my eggs. If you have any questions, I would love to hear from you." |
